After four years, Apple is preparing to launch AirTag 2, expected before the holiday season. The new tracker will reportedly look similar to the original but feature better range, an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip and improved privacy, including a harder-to-remove speaker. The new UWB chip could extend Precision Finding distance up to 90 meters — triple the current range. While not a major redesign, AirTag 2 aims to refine performance and privacy ahead of a long-awaited refresh.
