Bloomberg reports that Abidur Chowdhury – the industrial designer who introduced the iPhone Air – has left Apple for an undisclosed AI startup. His departure adds to a growing wave of exits from Apple’s design and AI teams, including several longtime designers who have joined Jony Ive’s group at OpenAI’s io. Chowdhury was considered a rising figure internally, though the move is said to be unrelated to the iPhone Air launch. His new role has not yet been disclosed.
