Nova Launcher has unexpectedly received another update, version 8.1.6 beta, which fixes a major crash affecting app drawer search. This comes despite founder Kevin Barry’s departure in September and his statement that the launcher would no longer be maintained. Former developer Rob Wainwright says these updates were likely finished long ago by the original team, while some users believe Branch, the company that owns Nova, is releasing old fixes to counter negative publicity.
