A new Korean report claims the Galaxy Z Flip8 will be at least 10% thinner and lighter than the Flip7 — around 6mm when open, 12mm when closed and about 170g. Samsung aims to boost Flip8/Fold8 sales by 10% to 6.7 million units, partly due to weak Flip7 performance and growing competition from thin, lightweight Chinese foldables. The company also wants to strengthen its position ahead of Apple’s expected entry into foldables in 2026. The Flip8 is set to receive the same major thinness and weight improvements the Fold7 got this year.
