Samsung may launch launch a Visa credit card in the US

Samsung is reportedly in advanced talks with Barclays to launch a co-branded consumer credit card in the US on the Visa network, aiming to rival Apple’s Apple Card.

The card would offer cashback rewards that can be redeemed for Samsung products and could debut by the end of the year, though the deal isn’t finalized.

Samsung and Barclays are also exploring a high-yield savings account, digital prepaid account and Buy Now Pay Later option to boost use of Samsung Wallet.

The move comes as Apple’s partner Goldman Sachs looks to exit the Apple Card business, highlighting growing competition between the two tech giants in financial services.
