Despite the failure of the Humane AI Pin, Apple is reportedly exploring its own AI-powered pin. According to The Information, the project is still in very early development and could be canceled, but Apple is said to be targeting a potential launch around 2027 with plans to produce up to 20 million units.
The pin is described as AirTag-sized but thicker, featuring an aluminum-and-glass design, two cameras, three microphones, a speaker, a physical button and magnetic charging similar to the Apple Watch. It may work independently or alongside devices like the iPhone. The move reflects Apple’s push to keep pace with rivals like OpenAI, which is also rumored to be developing AI-powered earbuds.
