Gemini Live is currently powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash, but code found in the latest Google app beta suggests major upgrades are on the way. Google appears to be preparing Labs features for the Gemini Android app, similar to those introduced with Gemini 3 Pro.
Upcoming options may include Live Thinking Mode for more detailed responses, experimental multimodal features like better noise handling, visual awareness and personalized results, as well as UI Control to let Gemini operate the phone and Deep Research for complex tasks. These hints suggest Gemini Live could soon be powered by Gemini 3, bringing more advanced AI capabilities to Android.
