Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is getting diabetes risk assessment feature

Huawei unveiled a new smartwatch feature at the World Health Expo 2026 in Dubai that assesses your risk of developing diabetes. Instead of directly measuring blood glucose, it analyzes multiple physiological signals over 3–14 days using sensors like PPG to estimate risk trends.

The feature is already available on the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro via an OTA update and will expand to more devices. It builds on Huawei’s existing health tools, such as metabolic tracking and medical-grade blood pressure monitoring.

Results are shown through the Diabetes Risk app, which provides a risk indication and encourages lifestyle changes or medical follow-up. However, it’s only a screening tool – not a replacement for clinical glucose testing or continuous monitoring.
