iFixit’s teardown of the new AirTag 2 reveals that despite Apple making the speaker louder and adding new anti-stalking protections, it’s still easy to disable the speaker without breaking the device. On the plus side, the teardown confirms upgraded internals, including a new Bluetooth/NFC SoC and Apple’s U2 Ultra Wideband chip, which enables improved Precision Finding with iPhone 15 models and newer.
