TikTok has a new feed rolling out just for US users

TikTok, now under US ownership for American users, has launched a new US-exclusive feature called Local Feed. The new tab highlights hyper-local content, including nearby events, restaurants, shopping, travel, small businesses and local creators, helping users stay connected to their communities.

Content in the Local Feed is shown based on location, topic and recency. To enhance accuracy, TikTok is introducing an optional precise location (GPS) setting for users 18 and older. It’s turned off by default, only active while the app is in use and can be disabled at any time.

While precise location improves how hyper-local the feed feels, users can still access the Local Feed without enabling it.
