Google has released Android 17 Beta 3 about a month after Beta 2, bringing the OS close to its final version expected in June 2026. The update is available for Pixel 6 and newer devices, including the Pixel Tablet and foldables.
Beta 3 marks platform stability with final APIs and focuses on refinements. New features include hiding app labels on the home screen, a redesigned screen recording tool with a floating toolbar, separate Wi-Fi and mobile data toggles, and alerts for time changes like daylight saving.
It also adds improved accessibility controls, such as better hearing device audio management and a separate Assistant volume slider, along with customization options like excluding apps from dark mode and adjusting cursor blinking.
Additional upgrades include enhanced password privacy, interactive picture-in-picture for desktop mode, improved widget scaling on external displays and support for the RAW14 image format.
