Netflix has announced the acquisition of InterPositive, an AI filmmaking technology company founded by Ben Affleck. The startup develops AI-powered tools designed to support filmmakers and improve parts of the production and post-production process.
As part of the deal, InterPositive’s team will join Netflix and Affleck will serve as a Senior Advisor. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the acquisition is significantly smaller than Netflix’s previously rumored interest in Warner Bros. Discovery or HBO Max.
The move signals Netflix’s intention to push deeper into AI-driven filmmaking tools, potentially accelerating the use of AI across the film and TV industry as other companies follow suit.
