Samsung is expanding Samsung Wallet with a new Digital Home Key feature that lets compatible Galaxy devices unlock select smart door locks using NFC or UWB – including hands-free access. If a phone is lost, keys can be disabled remotely via Samsung’s Find service, with security protected by Samsung Knox.
The feature is built on Aliro 1.0, a new universal access standard from the Connectivity Standards Alliance – the group behind Matter – designed to ensure cross-brand compatibility and avoid closed ecosystems.
Samsung also announced that American Airlines is the first U.S. carrier to support direct boarding pass integration in Samsung Wallet. Users can add passes from the airline’s app, receive live flight updates, sync travel details to Samsung Calendar and even link a Galaxy SmartTag to track luggage – all within Wallet.
