Google Maps is rolling out Immersive Navigation, its biggest driving update in over a decade. The new feature introduces a detailed 3D view of roads, buildings and terrain, along with clearer visuals for lanes, crosswalks, traffic lights and other key road elements.
Powered by Google Gemini, the update also offers smarter route guidance, natural voice directions and real-time alerts about traffic, crashes and construction. Drivers will also see route comparisons, destination previews with Google Street View and suggestions for parking.
Immersive Navigation is starting to roll out in the US, with support expanding soon to iOS, Android, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and cars with Google built-in.
