Vivo has filed a patent for an unusual rollable smartphone design that expands vertically rather than sideways. Unlike most rollable phone concepts that widen the display, this device would extend its screen height when rolled out.
While the idea is interesting, the practical benefits remain unclear since most apps are already optimized for tall displays. For now, the design exists only as a patent and like many such filings in the smartphone industry, it may never become a real product.
