Apple has signed a deal with OpenAI to provide chatbot functionality in iOS 18, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This partnership will be highlighted at Apple’s WWDC developer event in June. Apple is also negotiating with Google to offer Gemini as an additional AI option, but this won’t be announced soon. Meanwhile, Apple is developing its own Ajax AI model for on-device tasks. The OpenAI deal allows Apple to continue working on its own chatbot. Additionally, iOS 18 is expected to include custom emoji functionality and other AI features.
