Amazon has been fined millions for violating labor laws

The Labor Commissioner’s Office fined Amazon.com Services, LLC $5.9 million for violating the Warehouse Quotas law in their Moreno Valley and Redlands warehouses. This law mandates that employers inform workers about their quotas and related disciplinary actions. The investigation, starting on September 22, 2022, uncovered 59,017 violations between October 2023 and March 2024. The Warehouse Worker Resource Center supported the investigation. The law, effective January 1, 2022, aims to ensure workers’ rights to breaks and safety compliance.
