Amazon is developing a competitor to ChatGPT called Metis, using its Olympus Large Language Model (LLM), which is said to have two trillion parameters – twice as many as GPT-4.
The company’s CEO, Andy Jassy, is personally involved and internal testing is underway, with an expected public debut in September.
Despite previous struggles with Alexa AI due to team conflicts, data quality issues and an insufficient GPU, Metis aims to be an autonomous AI capable of performing tasks such as real-time data presentation.
