Apple’s Photos app will now include a “Recovered” album for lost or damaged photos and videos on devices running iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or macOS Sequoia. This album will coexist with the “Recently Deleted” album and will automatically scan for recoverable files. Users can access this album through the Photos app under Utilities, authenticate with Touch ID or Face ID, and choose to delete or restore the files. The album will only appear if there are recoverable files. Causes for file loss include saving interruptions, database corruption, and third-party apps.
