TikTok has lost its fight to be excluded from the European antitrust law, the Digital Markets Act (DMA), and will comply. Despite this, TikTok could still face a ban in the EU for breaching child protection laws. In the US, a ruling on TikTok’s future is pending, with a potential ban or forced sale to an American company being considered. TikTok’s case against the US government will be heard in September.
