YouTube pulls songs from Adele, Nirvana and others due to dispute

Many popular songs, like Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and tracks by artists like Kendrick Lamar and Britney Spears, disappeared from YouTube and YouTube Music due to a licensing issue with SESAC. SESAC, a music licensing organization, represents over 1.5 million songs. YouTube stated they couldn’t reach an agreement before the deal expired, but negotiations are ongoing. Some believe this could be a negotiating tactic, as the previous agreement may not end until next week. It’s unclear when the music will return.
