Global smartphone shipments grew 5% year-on-year in Q3 2024, marking a fourth consecutive quarter of growth, driven by strong demand in emerging markets and a replacement cycle in North America, China and Europe.
Samsung led with 18% of shipments, closely followed by Apple, also at 18%, with Xiaomi in third at 14%. OPPO reclaimed the fourth spot with 9% and Vivo rounded out the top five at 9%.
Apple achieved its highest Q3 volume ever, fueled by strong iPhone 15 demand. Competition among top vendors is tightening as they enter the holiday season amid global challenges.
