Apple’s Vision Pro is proving valuable in the medical field, with surgeons at the University of California performing over 20 live surgeries using the device. Surgeons, assistants, and nurses wear the headset during procedures like acid-reflux and obesity surgeries. Dr. Santiago Horgan, who led the first surgery with the Vision Pro, praised its high-resolution display, which surpasses previous headsets like Google Glass and Microsoft HoloLens. The headset also helps reduce strain on surgeons by eliminating the need to constantly shift focus between the patient and monitors. UC San Diego’s team is testing the device for 3D imaging and believes it could become a standard tool in operating rooms globally.
