OnePlus Oxygen OS 15 adds Open Canvas, Circle to Search and AI features

OnePlus has launched Oxygen OS 15, based on Android 15, featuring new animations, design updates, and extensive AI upgrades. Performance improvements include Parallel Processing for smoother app transitions and refined exit animations, with a 20% system reduction available on the upcoming OnePlus 13.

Design updates bring new Shelf Cards, shimmering effects for Super VOOC charging and unlocking and redesigned icons. Users can now customize their lock screens with “Flex Themes” and enhanced Gaussian blur effects in the Control and Notification Centers.

New features include Open Canvas for multi-window multitasking on more devices and an in-built file-sharing tool to connect with iPhones via the O+ Connect app. The Gallery app now includes AI Unblur, Reflection Eraser and Detail Boost, while the Notes app can auto-organize and summarize content. Intelligent Search interprets natural language queries across apps and AI Reply generates context-aware responses in chat apps.

Google-integrated features like Circle to Search, Pass Scan in Google Wallet and Gemini Assistant are also supported. Oxygen OS 15’s open beta will start on October 30, 2024, for the OnePlus 12, with wider AI feature rollouts expected by November.
