HONOR has launched Magic OS 9.0, based on Android 15, in China, adding numerous AI features. The software includes the MagicLM AI suite, with a three-billion-parameter on-device model for mid-range and premium devices. The revamped YoYo AI assistant now performs tasks like ordering coffee through natural language commands and can handle 900 automated tasks, such as managing subscriptions and document conversions.
Magic OS 9.0 also enhances features like Magic Portal for context-aware content sharing and Magic Capsule for live updates on services like flights and deliveries. New productivity tools include AI Meetings (transcription and summaries), AI Docs (writing assistance) and AI Translate (real-time translation). HONOR’s gallery app now offers object removal, face restoration and AI image expansion. A roadmap shows recent and older HONOR devices will receive this update through early 2025, with a global rollout expected later.
