Apple is expected to launch the ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air next year, focusing on design over functionality. However, a supply chain report reveals that Apple faces challenges in achieving its desired thinness due to battery issues. The company planned to use a thinner battery design but ran into problems with cost, manufacturing and technical compromises. The iPhone 17 Air’s battery will reportedly be around 6mm thick, but it’s unclear how this will impact the phone’s overall thickness. Currently, the thinnest iPhone is the iPhone 6 at 6.9mm.
