Google has introduced Deep Research, an AI tool for Gemini Advanced subscribers that uses the Gemini bot to gather web information and create detailed reports. Users can request research on a topic, and Gemini will generate a multi-step plan, find key information online and compile a report with linked sources. Reports can be edited, expanded or exported to Google Docs.
Part of the Gemini 2.0 announcement, Deep Research showcases Google’s push into “agentic AI,” where systems perform tasks autonomously. Currently, it’s available only in English on the web, with access through the Gemini 1.5 Pro model.
