Apple’s AirPods Max will support lossless audio

Apple is bringing full lossless audio to AirPods Max in April via a firmware update. The update enables 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless playback over USB-C, improving music, movies and gaming experiences. It also reduces latency for music production and streaming. The update rolls out with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4. Apple now offers a $39 USB-C to 3.5mm cable for wired listening.
