A leaked report reveals Google is developing an “Android Desktop Mode” similar to Samsung DeX and Motorola’s Smart Connect. Expected to launch with Android 17 on next-gen Pixel phones, the feature will support multitasking with resizable windows, desktop-style navigation and app management. It will activate when connecting a phone to an external display via USB-C, with possible wireless support in the future. The UI is still being refined and is unlikely to debut with Android 16.
