Samsung phones can survive twice as many charges as rivals

Google just launched its Battery Performance Program for the Pixel 6a, highlighting growing concern over smartphone battery health. A new EU energy label system now helps buyers understand how long a phone battery should last, showing the expected number of charge cycles before significant wear.

Here are some key findings:

Google: Most devices (Pixel 9 series, Pixel 8a, etc.) rated for 1,000 cycles

Samsung: Flagships like the Galaxy S25 series rated for an impressive 2,000 cycles

Fairphone: Up to 1,300 cycles

Nothing & Sony: 1,400 cycles

Motorola & OnePlus: 1,000–1,200 cycles

Apple: iPhones and iPads rated at 1,000 cycles

Samsung’s high cycle ratings stand out, but more transparency is needed on how these numbers are calculated and how they hold up in real-world use.
