A new Appfigures report shows ChatGPT dominating AI assistant apps with $2B in global consumer spending since May 2023 and a 673% YoY surge in 2025. The app has 318M downloads this year, led by India (13.7%) and the U.S. (10.3%), though U.S. users generate nearly 40% of revenue. ChatGPT leads in lifetime revenue per install at $2.91, far ahead of Claude ($2.55), Grok ($0.75), and Copilot ($0.27). In 2025 alone, ChatGPT earned $1.35B in mobile revenue, 53× more than Grok.
