Apple wants to bring Touch ID to its watches starting next year

A new report suggests Apple is working on bringing Touch ID to its smartwatches, likely debuting with the Apple Watch Ultra 4 in 2026. The feature, still in prototype stage, is referenced in internal code under Apple’s “AppleMesa” codename.

The fingerprint sensor could be integrated into the display or the side button. Alongside this, next year’s Apple Watch lineup is rumored to get a major redesign and possibly a new processor.
