Apple has launched the iPhone 17 series, its biggest upgrade in years, finally catching up to Android flagships with 120Hz displays, Always-On mode, better cameras and new designs.

Models: iPhone 17, iPhone Air (new thin model), iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Pricing: Starts at $829 (256GB) for iPhone 17, $999 for iPhone Air, $1,099 for iPhone 17 Pro, and $1,199 for Pro Max. Preorders open Sept 12, 2025; sales begin Sept 19.

Design & Build: Base iPhone keeps its familiar look; iPhone Air introduces a super-thin titanium frame; Pro models switch from titanium to aluminum with a new two-tone rear.

Displays: All models use Super Retina XDR OLED with anti-reflective coating. iPhone 17 finally gets a 120Hz ProMotion display.

Cameras: New 18MP selfie camera with Center Stage. Pro models pack triple 48MP cameras, including a new periscope zoom.

Performance: Powered by A19 and A19 Pro chips, with improved thermals and vapor chamber cooling on Pro models.

Battery: Longer life across the board, with up to 39 hours video playback on Pro Max. Faster charging: 0–50% in 20 minutes (40W).

Other: eSIM-only in the US (Air is eSIM-only worldwide). Ships with iOS 26’s new “Liquid Glass” design.

Overall, the iPhone 17 lineup brings long-awaited features, stronger cameras and better value, setting a higher bar for both Apple and Android rivals.
