Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman says the company is heavily investing in compute to build its own frontier models, aiming for clusters 6–10× larger than those used for MAI-1-preview (trained on 15,000 H100s). CEO Satya Nadella emphasized supporting multiple models across Microsoft products, citing GitHub Copilot as an example. Microsoft 365 Copilot will soon partly use Anthropic models, which reportedly outperform OpenAI in Excel and PowerPoint tasks.
