Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 update has leaked in a hands-on video running on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While many new features like Privacy Display and Automatic Call Screening weren’t shown, the build highlights major design changes.
The Settings menu now has softer visuals, rounded corners, and a bottom search bar. The battery icon is replaced with a percentage-only readout, and the Quick Settings panel is fully customizable.
Core apps are also refreshed:
Phone gets a redesigned bottom bar plus Direct Voicemail and Transcript Assist.
Gallery adds a bottom navigation pill, new menu options, and a Collections feature in Labs.
My Files adopts rounded icons and a bottom search bar.
Camera reorganizes video settings, adds dual recording, and supports saving video directly to external storage.
Other tweaks include a blurred notifications background on the lock screen. Though still buggy and incomplete, the leak suggests Samsung is moving toward a cleaner, modern UI, with the final release expected alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year.
