Meta has reportedly hired Ke Yang, the Apple executive who recently led the company’s ChatGPT-like AI search project known as AKI (Answers, Knowledge and Information). Yang’s move marks another major loss for Apple’s AI division, which has already seen several key researchers defect to Meta, OpenAI and Anthropic.
Yang was appointed to head the AKI team only weeks ago after former Siri chief Robby Walker left Apple. His departure leaves the future of Apple’s revamped Siri and Apple Intelligence rollout — already delayed and uncertain — even more in question.
