Gemini is starting to roll out to Android Auto

Google has started rolling out Gemini on Android Auto, replacing Google Assistant for some users. The update appears to be server-side and currently reaching beta testers on versions 15.6 and 15.7.

Gemini brings natural language understanding, context retention, and follow-up questions, similar to Gemini Live on phones. However, users note one limitation — it doesn’t recognize nicknames like “mom” or “boss.”

A new Gemini settings menu now lets users toggle options like “Interrupt Live responses” and “Share precise location”, both enabled by default.
