Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series continues to generate buzz amid leaks and lineup reshuffles — including the cancellation of the S26 Edge and Pro, and the return of the S26 Plus.
According to Korea’s ChosunBiz, Samsung now plans to hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in late January 2026, with sales starting in mid-February, moving up the launch by several weeks.
The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will use the Exynos 2600, while the S26 Ultra gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (for Galaxy). This chipset split helps manage costs, but the Ultra’s price is set to rise due to expensive components and tariffs.
While the earlier release is positive news, the weaker Exynos models and higher Ultra pricing could pose challenges — especially as Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup brings bigger upgrades and competition intensifies.
