A new report suggests Apple plans a major camera upgrade in 2028, with the first 200MP iPhone camera expected to debut that year. While current iPhones use 48MP sensors across all rear cameras, the jump to 200MP would mark a significant leap.
According to a Morgan Stanley investor note, the 200MP sensor will be supplied by Samsung, highlighting the companies’ ongoing partnership. Until then, Apple is expected to focus on other camera improvements, with megapixel counts likely remaining unchanged before 2028.
