Google has confirmed that Android 17 Beta 1 is coming soon, kicking off the next Android beta cycle. The news arrives alongside the release of the final Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2.1 update.
Android 17 Beta 1 will be based on the Android 16 QPR platform and include the latest bug fixes, plus stability and performance improvements. Users already enrolled in the Android Beta Program will receive the update automatically.
Google also noted that anyone currently on the Android 16 QPR3 beta who wants the final stable Android 16 release must opt out of the beta program before Android 17 Beta 1 rolls out – otherwise, their device will update directly to the new beta.
