Google has launched Nano Banana 2 – also known as Gemini 3.1 Flash Image – as a faster and more capable replacement for Nano Banana Pro across Gemini’s main modes.
The new model brings improved reasoning, image quality and speed, while using real-time web data to render more accurate visuals. It can generate photorealistic images, create infographics and diagrams, translate and localize text within images, and handle complex prompts with greater detail – supporting multiple characters and objects in a single workflow.
Nano Banana 2 will also roll out to Google Search’s AI Mode, while Nano Banana Pro remains available for advanced users through subscription plans.
