Samsung Display unveiled new smartphone display technologies at SID Display Week 2026, highlighting future directions for mobile screens.
The new “Flex Chroma Pixel” OLED panel reaches up to 3,000 nits brightness and covers 96% of the BT.2020 color space, promising more vivid and accurate colors while maintaining efficiency.
Samsung also introduced a 6.8-inch “Sensor OLED” that can measure heart rate and blood pressure directly through the display using embedded photodiodes – eliminating the need for separate sensors. It retains sharp 500 PPI resolution and includes built-in privacy tech similar to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, hiding sensitive data from side angles.
These technologies are still in development but that´s where future Samsung smartphones may be headed.
