Huawei is expected to launch two new foldable smartphones in the second half of 2026: the tri-fold Huawei Mate XT2 and the book-style Huawei Mate X9. According to leaks, both devices could be powered by the upcoming Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, which is said to deliver performance comparable to modern 3nm processors.
The Mate XT2 will reportedly focus on improving Huawei’s tri-fold design, while the Mate X9 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch cover display, an 8.15-inch inner screen, a battery larger than 6,000mAh and upgraded cameras. The Mate X9 could also be more affordable than its predecessor, with a rumored starting price around CNY 10,000 ($1,475).
Looking ahead, Huawei is also said to be preparing a new compact foldable device for 2027, likely a successor to the Pura X.
