Oura confirms battery problems affected some Ring 4 units

Oura has confirmed that battery performance problems affected certain Ring 4 units, contributing to an $84.4 million increase in warranty expenses in fiscal 2025. The company disclosed the issue in paperwork filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission ahead of its planned IPO.

Oura replaced affected rings free of charge and, in some cases, provided replacements even after the standard one-year warranty had expired. The company says the problems were linked to earlier design, manufacturing and supplier-related factors and that it has since strengthened testing and quality control.

Oura has not revealed which batches or serial numbers were affected. Ring 4 owners experiencing unusually fast battery drain should therefore consider contacting Oura support to see whether their device qualifies for a replacement.
