iPhone Duo is thicker and heavier than basically every Android foldable

Apple is officially breaking into the foldable market with the launch of the iPhone Duo next month at a competitive $2,000 price point. While the tech giant’s patient strategy has yielded several impressive hardware features – including Apple Pencil support, an under-display camera, smooth screen transitions and interactive display tricks – the device ultimately stumbles when it comes to bulk.

Measuring 11.3mm thick when folded and weighing a heavy 254 grams, the iPhone Duo is noticeably chunkier than its primary rivals. It weighs 15 grams more than Google’s Pixel 11 Pro Fold and up to 53 grams more than Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 8, which also beats Apple with a substantially thinner profile.

While dedicated iOS fans and early adopters likely will not mind the extra heft for an iPad-like foldable experience, Samsung continues to hold a clear lead in refined, lightweight hardware.
