Global AI glasses shipments jumped 263% year over year in H1 2026, according to Counterpoint Research. Display-free AI glasses made up 96% of shipments, with Meta dominating the segment with a 94% share.
AR glasses shipments grew even faster, surging 449% year over year, although from a much smaller base. Rokid led the AR segment with a 41% share, followed by Meta at 37%.
Counterpoint expects the market to continue growing, but rising component costs and privacy concerns around cameras could pose challenges. Camera-free AI glasses could become one way manufacturers address those concerns.
