Instagram is introducing a live location-sharing feature in direct messages, allowing users to share their location with friends or groups for up to one hour. The feature, aimed at simplifying meetups, is off by default and includes privacy safeguards, such as an indicator when location sharing is active. Unlike Apple’s Find My, it doesn’t support always-on location sharing. Instagram is also adding new DM stickers and custom nicknames for group chats. The feature is rolling out in select countries and requires the latest app version.
