Amazon is facing a lawsuit accusing it of secretly tracking users

A lawsuit alleges Amazon secretly collects detailed user data through hidden code in popular apps, tracking locations, shopping habits and even personal aspects like religion and health. Plaintiff Felix Kolotinsky claims Amazon gathered his data via the “Speedtest by Ookla” app and sold it without consent. The case centers on Amazon’s Ads SDK, which allegedly enabled 24/7 tracking. The lawsuit, seeking $5 billion, argues Amazon violated California privacy laws. While Amazon has not responded, the case highlights growing concerns over corporate data collection without user consent.
