iPhone China sales were miss – Tim Cook says not to worry

Apple reported record holiday earnings, but iPhone sales fell short, mainly due to China. CEO Tim Cook noted that iPhone 16 sales were stronger in countries where Apple Intelligence was available. The AI feature isn’t yet in China or the EU, though an EU rollout is set for April. China’s 11.1% sales decline was attributed to inventory changes, lack of AI and a post-quarter subsidy that may boost future sales.
