A 53-year-old climber was rescued from nearly 11,000 feet in Colorado after injuring his wrist while descending Snowmass Mountain. With no cell service, he used Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite to contact family, who alerted authorities. A 17-person rescue team reached him more than eight miles from the nearest trailhead. Officials praised the feature for speeding up response time and emphasized the importance of knowing how to use emergency tools like Apple’s satellite SOS.
